Creator Updates + $1M Article Contest

2026 is the year of the creator on X.

We closed 2025 with the highest payouts since our monetization program launched and we are just getting started. This year, our focus is clear: empower creators to grow and earn more on X.

Here is what we’ve already rolled out this year

1. We have more than doubled the Revenue Sharing pool. With the growth of X Premium subscriptions in 2025, it’s only fair that we share this with our creators. This increase unlocks significantly higher payout potential for creators across the platform.
2. We’ve also updated how payouts are calculated. Revenue Sharing payouts are now based on Verified Home Timeline impressions, meaning your earnings are driven by real views from Premium users who see your posts in their Home feed. This shift is about rewarding content that truly resonates: posts that consistently show up in timelines and spark discussion. A more detailed earnings dashboard is coming soon to Creator Studio. We understand that some content formats require more effort and can have more impact than others. So we may weight formats like Articles more heavily than short-form content.

Here’s what stays the same:

• Views from users on higher Premium tiers are worth more than those from lower tiers. 
• We will continue taking robust measures to detect fraud and penalize inauthentic interactions.

Our goal is to make X the best platform to earn a living from your content and this is just the beginning.

We’re also trying something new: we’re giving $1 million to the Top Article of the next payout period.

We're doubling down on what creators on X do best: writing. We want to recognize high-value, high-impact content that shapes conversation, breaks news and moves culture.

The Article must be original content, at least 1,000 words and will be judged primarily on Verified Home Timeline impressions. Only US users are eligible.
