You’ll also need to agree to the policies and convert to a (free) Professional Account. We’ll be exploring increasing global scale next year.

No, X doesn’t take a cut of your product sales.
With the X sales channel on Shopify, you can seamlessly connect your Shopify catalog with X Shopping. Learn more. We’ll continue to explore additional third party integrations later this year.
Unfortunately we don't have self-serve reporting flows in place for X Shopping, but are working hard to build this soon! You can track click-through rates of your products by appending UTM parameters to your product links.
